Purposes

One of the biggest purposes of the Sai avatar was to bring the Hindus and the Mohammedans together. His constant advice to all was to this effect. Sai Baba said ‘God is the only one Almighty Master of all souls and He never discriminates while showing His love on the souls who are all equal before Him’. In Sai Baba’s words, ‘Rama and Rahim are one and the same, so why should their devotees quarrel among themselves?”Sai Baba said “If anyone does any evil to you, do not retaliate. If you can do anything, do some good unto others and Baba shall always support any truthful thought or action.”

Miracles

Sai Baba performed many miracles that baffled people and proved that He was indeed an incarnation of God. Experiencing His miracles, more and more people became His devotees and began to follow His teachings in order to lead a blissful life. Sai Baba’s miracles included bilocation, levitation, mindreading, materialization, exorcisms, entering a state of Samadhi at will, lighting lamps with water, removing his limbs or intestines and sticking them back to his body (khandana yoga), curing the incurably sick, appearing beaten when another was beaten, preventing a mosque from falling down on people, and helping his devotees in other miraculous ways. He also gave Darshan (vision) to people in the form of Sri Rama, Krishna, Vithoba, Shiva and many other gods depending on the faith of devotees.
